Our feature documentary project REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA by Joël Jent is selected for La Biennale di Venezia Gap-Financing Market 2025.

The 12th edition of the Venice Gap-Financing Market will present 40 feature length projects from around the world in the final stages of development and funding – among them 8 documentaries.

TRACES OF RESPONSIBILITY by Anja Reiß & Jann Anderegg wins the DOK.digital – Award for new narrative formats. We congratulate all participants and as co-producer we are extremely happy about this award.

From the jury’s statement:
“(…) This interactive storytelling format was the result of an enormous amount of hard work: Over 150 sequences, over seven hours of film – without compromising on production quality. The project shows that there are documentary topics that can be received interactively – not only alone, but also in a collaborative setting in the cinema.”

The interactive documentary features a single-player and a multiplayer version in which the audience’s decisions influence the narrative. Viewers are immersed in a multi-perspective exploration of the complex origins and aftermath of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, following the trail of a convicted war criminal with ties to Switzerland.

REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA by Joël Jent has been selected for the next edition of the Co-Production Meeting at the 40th Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara in Mexico, which will take place between June 9-11 2025.

Producer Sophia Rubischung will participate in «ProPro – The Producers‘ Program for Women» with our project REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA. The program will take place in Vienna from June 2–6, 2025. An initiative by the Austrian Film Institute and organized by the International Screen Institute, this program seeks to empower Female Film Producers.

TRACES OF RESPONSIBILITY by Anja Reiß and Jann Anderegg will screen at 60th Solothurner Filmtage 2025. Two interactive cinema screenings will take place in presence of the filmmakers:

• 23rd January, 3.30 PM at Uferbau
• 24th January, 6.00 PM at Uferbau

REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA is among the 24 film projects selected for the Pitching Forum at Medimed – the Euromed Docs Market in Sitges, Spain. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the co-production and co-financing market continues to be a pivotal platform, welcoming some of the most promising filmmakers and established members of the industry to present a varied slate of documentary projects at different stages of development. We are looking forward to meet fellow filmmakers and to present our project to industry representatives and commissioning editors.

DOK Leipzig selects TRACES OF RESPONSIBILITY by Anja Reiß and Jann Anderegg to screen in the DOK Neuland – Interactive Cinema program.

Our co-production is an interactive documentary that creates a new film each time it screens, as the public uses an app to decide which way the film should take and what perspective they choose.
The interactive film invites the audience to collectively navigate a pathway through the complex origins and aftermath of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. On a journey through the country, the audience will decide which path they want to follow and how deep they immerse into the history.

A phone with a camera and internet access will be needed to participate in this film.

The participatory film usually runs between 85–110 minutes and it will screen twice in Leipzig, in presence of the filmmakers:

Each year the DOK Co-Pro Market features 35 international documentary projects in development and matches project holders with new partners for co-production, financing and distribution. We are very excited, that REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA is among the 35 projects selected for the 2024 edition.

The Co-Pro Market expands networks and creates fruitful opportunities for new creative documentaries by exploring potential partnerships. Over two days, DOK Industry organizes 850+ curated one-on-one meetings and plenty of informal networking opportunities in a friendly and welcoming setting. The program comprises informal networking events and discussions led by international experts who share practical knowledge on the international market and co-production.

REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA by Joël Jent is selected for The StoryBoard Collective / Swiss Films IMPACT ACCELERATOR as one of three participating projects.

SWISS FILMS and the philanthropic organisation The StoryBoard Collective from Geneva announced their strategic collaboration. The new partnership will enable three Swiss producers to launch their international impact campaigns. This new support measure, entitled “Impact Accelerator”, was developed as part of the SWISS FILMS Lab pilot programme.

IMPACT ACCELERATOR supports storytelling for social transformation. The selected projects will benefit of a coaching session with The Story Board Collective and receive funding to further develop their films impact campaigns.

Producer Sophia Rubischung was selected to attend Eurodoc 2024 programme with the project REBELIÓN DE LA MEMORIA by Joël Jent.
The 40 participants selected, coming from 23 countries worldwide, will develop their documentary projects and career over eight months, within groups led by Heino Deckert (Ma.ja.de, Germany), Jean-Laurent Csinidis (Les Films de Force Majeure, France) and Gema Juarez Allen (Gema Films, Argentina).
Through a three-folded residential program and enriched online units, they will have the opportunity to meet more than 50 experts and analysts, and up to 35 producers from the countries hosting the sessions.

Die 40 ausgewählten TeilnehmerInnen aus 23 Ländern weltweit werden acht Monate lang ihre Dokumentarfilmprojekte und ihre Karriere in Gruppen weiterentwickeln, die von Heino Deckert (Ma.ja.de, Deutschland), Jean-Laurent Csinidis (Les Films de Force Majeure, Frankreich) und Gema Juarez Allen (Gema Films, Argentinien) betreut werden. Im Rahmen eines aus drei Teilen bestehenden Programmes mit Aufenthalten vor Ort und zusätzlichen Online-Kursblöcken werden die TeilnehmerInnen die Möglichkeit haben, sich mit mehr als 50 ExpertInnen und AnalystInnen sowie bis zu 35 ProduzentInnen aus den Ländern, in denen die Sitzungen stattfinden auszutauschen.

21 film projects from 18 countries will be showcased at the 14th edition of «When East Meets West», the Italian Co-Production Forum taking place from January 21-24, 2024 in the frame of the Trieste Film Festival. The selected projects in development – comprising 9 feature documentaries, 9 fiction features, and 3 short animations – emerged from a pool of 486 submissions and will be presented to more than 500 decision makers and professionals from all over the world.
